How do I sign up for Quisk?

What does it cost?
There is no cost to sign up or perform most functions. There may be fees associated with your account that can vary by bank. Contact your bank for more details.
What phones work with Quisk?
Quisk works on any phone that can receive a text message, and will not use your minutes.
Can I use my phone to register?
Not all banks allow customers to register for Quisk by text. If you'd like to register for Quisk, call or stop by your bank when it is convenient to do so or register for Quisk online from a computer or any data-connected device.
I don't have a bank account or card. Can I open a Quisk account for my phone?
Yes! Anyone can open a Quisk account. Contact a participating financial institutions for local rules and restrictions.
If I have multiple phone numbers, can I have multiple Quisk accounts?
Yes! Just like you have multiple debit accounts, you can have multiple Quisk accounts, though no more than one Quisk account per mobile number will be accepted (not availible in all countries).
What is my Quisk account number?
Because Quisk is a 100% digital payment system, it does not use long or hard to remember account numbers like cards or bank accounts. Instead, the only number you need to remember is your mobile number and secret PIN.
How do I add money to my Quisk account?
You can transfer money to your Quisk account from any linked checking or savings account. You can also deposit money at any branch, ATM, or approved merchant location.
How long before I can start using Quisk?
There are no limits when you can access funds in your Quisk account, and no open hours or holidays on your account. You can access any funds that are in your Quisk account, any time of day, any day of the year.
What mobile phone companies support Quisk?
Quisk is 100% compatible with any phone company or network operator.
Passwords and Account Security
What is a PIN and how does it work?
A Quisk PIN is a secure code used to identify you that only you know. Nobody from a bank or Quisk will ask you for your PIN online or over the phone—in fact, after you enter your PIN, it is encrypted in the Quisk system so no one at the bank or with access to your phone will know what it is. For complete account security, we recommend you choose your PIN carefully and you do not share this combination of numbers with anyone.
I have a temporary PIN, how do I change it?
You are issued a temporary PIN when you first register with Quisk. You can select your permanent PIN on-line, at a participating financial institution or at an approved agent merchant location (not available in all countries).
How should I choose a PIN?
Your PIN must be a series of 6 numbers. The best PIN is a combination of numbers that nobody else can guess. We recommend that you choose a number that means something to you or is significant that is not publicly available or attached to your personal identity.
What if I forget my PIN?
Simply call your bank's customer service number and they will reset your PIN and send you a temporary PIN that you can then change to any memorable number of your choice.
What if my phone is lost or stolen?
Your information and account data is stored on our system, not on your phone, and is protected by bank-level security and encryption. What's more, because Quisk works by you* entering a PIN and not an app or software, you can make purchases or cash out funds even without your phone present! In addition to loss and theft, this means mobile or data outages, unexpected loss of minutes, damage to your phone, or a loss of battery charge will never effect your ability to complete payments or convert any amount of your funds to cash at any merchant that accepts Quisk.
How do I tell if someone else is using my Quisk account?
Every Quisk transaction comes with an immediate SMS, in app notification or email receipt. Every time anyone accesses your Quisk account, a notification is sent to the mobile phone number and/or email address associated with your account.
I just got a text receipt that I did not approve – What Should I do?
If you believe that there is unapproved activity on your account, text 'stop' or 'freeze' any time of the day or night and all access to your account will be halted. You can also freeze your account and change your PIN on-line. Once transactions are halted, contact your bank regarding any suspicious activity.
Is there a cost to check the balance on my Quisk Account?
There is never a cost to check the balance of your account. Simply text 'BAL' to Quisk at the number provided and you will receive a text back immediately. You can also access your balance via the Quisk app or online if that is more convenient to you.
How do I see how much money I have in my Quisk Account?
Text 'BAL' to Quisk at the number provided or check your balance via the online portal. If you own a smartphone, you can also manage your account via the Quisk app.
How do I make a purchase using Quisk?
At the register, simply select Quisk on the POS terminal. If you do not see this as an option, please let the cashier know you would like to pay with Quisk. Be aware your store or business may not accept this payment method. On the screen, you will be asked to enter your mobile number, and then you will be asked to enter your secret PIN. You do not need to have your phone, wallet, or ID to complete a purchase with Quisk. You will receive a text, in-app or email notification confirming your purchase.
How do I make a purchase using a QR code?
If you have a smartphone, you can select Scan and Pay from the menu in the Quisk app to open the camera. Once the QR code is read and the merchant or business has been identified, you'll receive a prompt to enter the total purchase amount you wish to pay. When your QR payment is completed, you will receive the usual text, in-app, or email notification confirming your transaction is successful.
What does it cost to buy with Quisk?
A customer does not pay anything to complete a purchase with Quisk--the amount you see on the register is always the amount you pay. Please consult your bank for a complete list of any fees and charges on your Quisk Account.
Where can I use Quisk?
Quisk is accepted at a wide range of merchants and more are added to the network every day. Look for the Quisk logo at the checkout counter.
How can I tell if a store accepts Quisk?
Look for Quisk displayed at any counter or register alongside Visa, MasterCard and other payment logos.
What if I don't have enough funds in my Quisk account?
Payments only go through if you have adequate funds deposited in your Quisk account. You can easily top up your Quisk account by linking your checking or savings account. You can also ask a friend to send you money via SMS.
What is the cost if I make a purchase larger than my available funds?
There is never any overdraft costs or fees if a payment cannot be completed.
What if I don't have coverage or mobile connection?
With Quisk, you can enter your mobile number and secure PIN at any enabled POS terminal to make a payment or purchase even if your phone is not present or mobile or data coverage is not available.
What if my battery dies or I don't have my phone with me?
Quisk is different than a card or app because users can complete a purchase or withdraw money from their account at any participating bank or merchant without reaching for their phone or wallet. If you can remember your mobile number and secure PIN, you can use Quisk to access funds from anywhere, at any time.
Why is this better than using a debit card?
Debit cards can be lost, copied, or stolen without your knowledge, and make it impossible to share payments or transfer funds securely to friends and family. Quisk is available 24 hours a day to anyone with a mobile phone, and makes spending, saving, and managing money easier and safer than any card.
How do returns work?
When you talk to any merchant to request a refund, you are often asked to provide your original receipt. Quisk makes this easy with electronic eReceipts. Simply share the authentication code from your text or email notification and you will receive an eReceipt notification confirming that the refund was processed successfully. Remember: just like paying with cards or cash, Quisk refunds may vary based on the merchant's return policy.
How do rewards work?
Quisk Rewards allow businesses to directly offer a variety of benefits to customers. Businesses do not have access to names, addresses, or any personal information, but may offer cash back free items, or discounted purchases to their guests. You can manage these rewards or track points and discounts from the Quisk app or website.
How do I redeem a loyalty offer?
A variety of merchants and locations offer rewards to customers who pay digitally with Quisk. You can view these rewards on-line or via the Quisk app and can redeem them automatically during your next visit. At check out, when you select Quisk, simply click on the rewards option.
Sending and Receiving Money
How do I send money to someone?
To send money using Quisk, text to the Quisk SMS code: 'send', the number of the person you are sending to, and the amount you want to send, separated by spaces. That's it! In a few seconds you will receive a secure verification call asking you to enter your PIN. After your identity is confirmed, you will receive your Get Money code that only one phone number can use. You can shout it, text it, mail it, email it, or call to let them know you are sending money to in their account. The Get Money code ensures that your money is sent to the right person.
What is a Get Money code?
When someone shares money with you via Quisk, you'll receive a text, in-app or email notification letting you know. You cannot receive this money, however, until you reply with this short code: your 'Get Money' code. The only person who knows this code is the person who sent you money, and after you text this code to Quisk, those funds will immediately be transferred into your digital account. You can spend, save, or share this money at any time. You do not need to know the senders number or enter any information—you just need to correctly enter the get money code the sender specifies.
How do I know if the payment was received?
Any change to your Quisk account is confirmed with a text, in-app or email receipt, and sharing money is no different! You’ll see a payment has been made and any local fee associated with sending those funds.
What if I entered the wrong number?
For your security, a Get Money code can only be used by the phone number you specify. Senders are only charged if funds are successfully shared, so if you entered the wrong number, simply reply "Xsend" to the SMS with the Get Money Code and try again.
What are the costs to send money using Quisk?
Because multiple banks and financial institutions support Quisk, our customers can experience slightly different costs. Consult your bank or talk to a bank customer service representative to find out what the fees are to share money with Quisk.
Can I send money to someone without a Quisk Account?
Yes, but they’ll need to register to receive it. Registration is free and you do not need to have a current bank account to register with Quisk.
How long after I deposit funds in my account can I send money?
Immediately! Upon receiving confirmation that funds have been added in your account, your balance will update and funds can be sent to a number of your choice.
I just got a Get Money code – how do I collect the funds?
You should have received a text or email from Quisk letting you know a payment was on the way. Follow the prompts and text the Get Money code to the number provided. You’ll receive a second notification as soon as the funds are transferred. Remember: For security reasons, no one can use the Get Money code but you, and it can only be submitted from your device.
Mobile Phone and Network
I just got a new phone, how do I move Quisk to the new one?
As long as you keep your old mobile number, you can start using Quisk without interruption. There is a limit of one Quisk account per phone number, so if you have more than one mobile phone, you cannot use the same Quisk account on both devices for security reasons.
What do I do if I change my mobile number?
If you receive a new number, simply go online or contact your bank to change your phone number in the Quisk system. All balances and payment history are immediately transferred to this new number.
Can I change my phone company but still use Quisk?
Number portability is the right of people to keep their existing mobile number when changing providers. As long as your mobile number and PIN remains unchanged, you can use Quisk from any phone, on any network, without contacting a bank, downloading anything to your phone, or experiencing any delays in access to your funds. The ability to port phone numbers may be limited in some countries.
How do I close my Quisk Account?
We're sorry to see you go, but appreciate you being a Quisk customer. You can withdraw the remainder of your funds from any Quisk merchant or bank and should contact your bank representative to fully close your Quisk account.
Transaction Limits and Fees
Why do I have a daily limit?
Transaction limits are an important security feature for all Quisk users. If you share your PIN with someone who accesses your account without permission, your daily transaction limits prevent multiple charges from draining your account before you can stop or freeze access to your account and get a bank representative involved.
How much money do I have in my Quisk Account?
You can check your balance for free online, via any Quisk enabled app, or by texting 'BAL' to Quisk.
What happens if someone sends me money and I go above my account limit?
There are many situations where you might go above your account limit. Quisk will notify you whenever your balance exceeds the limit set by your bank. If it remains over balance at the end of the day, Quisk will transfer the excess funds to your bank for handling. You may contact your representative to discuss options for the remittance of this amount.
Are there annual fees on an account?
There are no fees to open or deposit money in a Quisk Account, but fees do vary from bank to bank. We recommend you contact your bank or review your bank's website for a complete understanding of fees associated with using Quisk.
Will I ever owe money on my Quisk account?
No. There are no charge backs or overdraft fees, and you'll never have debts associated with using Quisk. If you attempt a purchase, bill payment or transfer without adequate funds available, the transaction will simply not go through, and you'll be asked to complete the purchase via another method.
Does using Quisk effect my minutes?
No. Using Quisk does not effect your minutes, though standard text messaging and data rates may apply.
Can I use Quisk if I have run out of minutes on my phone?
Yes! You can complete any purchase or add or remove money from your account even if you have no minutes, no wifi connection, or your phone is not present at the register. Simply enter your mobile number and secret PIN.
If I don't use Quisk, do I lose the money I have inside?
No. There is no time limit to use Quisk and no costs associated with having a balance on your account. Funds will be saved securely until you wish to access them.
